Throughout 2017, some of us will be spending time in the eleven books that make up the main narrative of the Old Testament: Genesis, Exodus, Numbers, Joshua, Judges, 1 & 2 Samuel, 1 & 2 Kings, Ezra, and Nehemiah. Over the course of the year, we will be reading, memorizing a chronological outline, and studying the theology and main ideas of each book. If you would like to join us in this endeavor, let me know, and I will forward you the material and plan. We start January 1.
In 2017, we will continue working on memorizing some key passages in the Bible (we are also studying these passages in the adult Sunday school class). We have worked through Psalm 1, Ephesians 1:3–14, Isaiah 52:13–53:12, Hebrews 10:19–25, Psalm 23 and we are currently working through 2 Timothy 2:1–13. The notes from previous discussions are available under the “Bible Study Notes” tab at the top of the page. Whether or not you join us for class, we would love for you to join us in memorizing God’s word in 2017.
Over the summer and into the early fall, we will be looking at various topics that you have suggested. This week (7/23) we will be looking at the armor of God.
We gather on Sundays around 9:30 for coffee and fellowship. We then have elementary, junior & senior high, and adult fellowship classes beginning around 9:45. In the summer months we also have a college age class. Our worship services begin around 11:00 with singing, prayer, and time spent looking at what the Bible says to us, followed most mornings by a time of corporate discussion based on the morning’s Scripture passage.
